ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applying to Tecnológico de Monterrey – None- degree seeking International Program – is very simple, please determine the type of student you are, Exchange or Independent Student:

Exchange Students:
Students applying through an existing exchange between the student’s home university and Tecnológico de Monterrey, you must be nominated by your exchange program office or similar. In most of the cases, the student will pay tuition directly to their home university.

Independent Students:
All those students applying directly to Tecnológico de Monterrey, no exchange program is needed. Students are required to pay tuition and services directly to Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Depending of the Academic level you wish to enroll, the period of study will change:

Undergraduate students:

  • Spring Semester (January - May)
  • Summer Session (June - July)
  • Fall Semester (August - December)

IMPORTANT: Specify on the comments section if you are coming to Regular Summer or Mayan Route.

EXCHANGE STUDENTS

1. Go to Tecnológico de Monterrey Admission Application Form

A)Click in Not registered yet? Create an account and create a new account

B) Please specify in the field "Campus of your interest" select: Campus Monterrey

C) In the field "Type of admission" select: Non-degree seeking student.

After filling it you will receive by email your username and password to access the SIM Online Application Form.

In case you have any trouble please write to: ip.mty@itesm.mx.

Send by courier or express mail the following documents (Use DHL, UPS, FedEx, etc., please don’t use any regular mail).

2. Your most recent School Transcript with a minimum average of 80 (Mexican system) or GPA of 2.5 (USA system). Cases of average between 70 – 79 (GPA 2.0 – 2.5) will be considered at length.

3. Authorization letter from your study abroad coordinator, naming you as an exchange student (directed to Edith Cantú)

INDEPENDENT STUDENTS

Send by courier or express mail the following documents (Use DHL, UPS, FedEx, etc, please don’t use any regular mail).

Take in consideration:
• Wells Fargo Bank doesn’t operate with IBAN code, only ABA and SWIFT
• Deposits are only accepted in US Dollars.
• CURRENT EXCHANGE RATE 1 USD= 11.50 PESOS

After the deposit is made, please scan the receipt and send this by email to Marcelo Bravo at marcelo.bravo@itesm.mx with your complete name and Tec de Monterrey Id. Number

HOUSING PROGRAMS

RESERVING FOR HOUSING

If you wish to apply to either the Host Family Program or to the University Residence Halls, you will also need to fulfill the following requirements:

FOR HOST FAMILY PROGRAM YOU SHOULD SEND:

1. A short essay* about your family life style and habits.
2. A non – refundable Administrative fee (1) for 100 USD*. The total cost of the program will be paid upon your arrival.

FOR UNIVERSITY RESIDENCE HALLS YOU SHOULD SEND:

1. A non-refundable down payment (1) of 450 USD* to secure your reservation. The remaining balance will be paid upon arrival.

 

APPLYING FOR AN INTERNSHIP, RESEARCH PROJECT OR VOLUNTEER SOCIAL WORK
If you wish to apply for an internship, research project or volunteer social work, also include the following documents:

• Your resume* in English and Spanish.
• A short essay* saying why it is important for you to participate in these programs. Please remember to include the field in which you would like to complete your internship/ project/volunteer work (i.e. Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, Planning, etc). For the volunteer social work program, make sure you include a statement in your essay where you agree to commit at least 100 hours of work during the semester or 40 for the summer.

 

UPON ARRIVAL

Upon arrival you will be asked to show the following information:

• Evidence of health insurance with coverage in Mexico. A copy of the policy or your insurance card will be sufficient. Tecnológico de Monterrey International insurance is mandatory to purchase for all Independent Students applying to any academic term, as well as exchange students participating in Mayan Route or Merida Program.
• Student visa (FM3) for semester or trimester students or a tourist visa (FMT) for summer term. Students doing a summer internship will also require a student visa.
• A valid passport and proof of financial solvency, such as credit or debit card statements for the cards you will use while in Mexico.
